Meet The Author

D’ara Wade is a lifelong Girl Scout from Jersey City, New Jersey, who began her journey at the age of five. What started as an after-school activity became the foundation for her confidence, leadership, and lifelong sisterhood.

In 2022, D’ara returned to Girl Scouts as a leader, founding and leading Girl Scouts Troop 12828 in Jersey City, New Jersey. Through her troop, she has created a safe, empowering space where girls are encouraged to use their voices, try new things, and grow into confident leaders.

D’ara is passionate about uplifting and inspiring others through leadership, community, and storytelling.

Through her work and this book, D’ara hopes to inspire girls everywhere to see themselves as brave, capable, and full of potential because every girl has the power to lead.
